family portraits have been a saving grace during the last year. it kept my photography muscles conditioned while also allowing me some safe-distance socializing with a much needed break of the routine of quarantining. this session took place at one of my favorite ri locations; beavertail state park in jamestown. if you are looking to document the family this year + break up the usual routine check out my year long portrait special.
my muse this week was our 4 legged babe, our one + only spotted monster. he wasn’t too thrilled with this decision as he is 1 of the photo reluctant dudes in my life [my husband being the other] we adopted him 8 1/2 years ago, falling in love with his spots, humanlike eyes with fashionable white eyelashes, + the softest fur evah. each day i find a new favorite spot. if you could ask him he would say 2020 was the best year of his life + 2021 is looking pretty great too. he likes long walks, barking at postal carriers/ postal trucks/ fed ex + ups, treats, dancing, + my personal favorite when my husband turns him into ‘laser dog’.
i must sound like a broken record by now but i cannot stress enough how important it is to get your folks together + to have your family portrait photographed. i had the complete honor to do just that for the carlow crew this summer [hello, do you recognize lisa frechette photography? such a huge compliment for a fellow photographer to ask me to document their extended family…but we all know how much i heart lisa!] turns out even her extended family thinks i am funny. smart group…+ they brought a puppy which you should all know by now is my favorite.
love love love this three generation family session that took place in scituate ri. the matriarch of this family is a master gardener + i have to tell you i was in awe of her hydrangea tree…yes tree…such a lush + beautiful backdrop to this touching + intimate session.
